About Hasami Porcelain
Hasami Porcelain comes from Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, one of the most prominent ceramic industries in Japan. Porcelain from Nagasaki are known to have reliable quality and price as daily tableware.
Takuhiro Shinomoto, the director and designer of Hasami Porcelain combines the traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern concepts. Simplicity is the main focus of the design.
Durable, unique and eco-friendly materials are used in the production of these tableware. Each tableware requires hard work in each processes unlike mass-produced tableware, the slight individual differences of the products creates the uniqueness of Hasami Porcelain.
Mugs, bowls, plates and trays are designed to have the same diameter so they can be stacked freely. This stacking design is inspired by traditional Japanese bento boxes, making each piece of porcelain functional and flexible for storage.
